Jaime I research awards – Xavier Querol’s speach

The coordinator of AIRUSE project, Dr Xavier Querol, was awarded the Jaume-I prize, in recognition of his research and contribution in the environmental field.

The Valencian foundation Premios Jaime I, which promotes research and scientific development in Spain, has delivered the six 2013 awards to five scientists, from the fields of medicine, new technologies, environment, economy and basic research and to the founder of the yogurt ice-cream business Llaollao, in a ceremony presided by Princess Letizia.

The environment awarded, Xavier Querol, who has spoken on behalf of all the winners, urged Governments to invest in science and technology because “it is very profitable for the future of society” and to resort to a “greater scientific, technological and business guidance” to make strategic decisions.
